Based in Northfield with a manufacturing facility in Waterbury, Cabot Hosiery Mills on Monday announced the promotion of Angelica Taylor from chief operations officer to president.
The parent of the Darn Tough Vermont brand of outdoor and lifestyle socks, Cabot Hosiery Millsbrought Taylor on board in 2021 as vice president of finance. A year later, Taylor moved up to chief operations officer.
Now Taylor will take on the role of president, the first non-Cabot family member to hold the title in the company’s history.
“She has earned it,” said Ric Cabot, who has served as both president and chief executive officer. “Angelica’s leadership has been proven time and time again here in Vermont. She’s going to do big things in our industry.”
Cabot will continue in his role as CEO, according the announcement that praised Taylor’s tenure with the company to date. “Taylor has shown her prowess and ability to hit targets and aim big for the Cabot Hosiery Mills family of brands,” it states.
Taylor will oversee the company’s performance across all of its sock brands that include Darn Tough, Wide Open, and Cabot & Sons. Since joining the company in 2021, she has played a key role in driving operational growth and scaling the business, the announcement noted.
That growth led to Cabot’s decision in 2021 to expand, opening a manufacturing facility in Pilgrim Park in Waterbury. The company now produces socks in space formerly part of Keruig/Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
Taylor said she expects more growth lies ahead for Cabot Hosiery Mills and Darn Tough. “With our industry landscape continuously changing and evolving, I am excited for the road ahead and to lead the charge on showcasing rich history while pushing the boundaries for an underdog company nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont,” she said.
Taylor has a bachelor’s degree from Campbell University and holds the business credentials of Certified Management Accounting and Certified Strategy and Competitive Analysis.
Founded in 1978, Cabot Hosiery Mills produces a wide variety of socks for men, women and children known for their durability and their unconditional lifetime guarantee.
