Executive Director

Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) is seeking a seasoned executive who will promote the mission to support Central Vermonters to age with dignity and choice by partnering with the board and staff, and leading the organizational change process to build upon past accomplishments, and to further expand the impact of providing critical services to older Vermonters.

The organization’s primary programs and services include case management, information and assistance, State Health Insurance Program (SHIP), family caregiver support, nutrition, and volunteer and community programs, including an AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program.  

The organization is governed by a 10-member board of directors made up of private, public, and nonprofit sector leaders. CVCOA has a staff of 40, and an annual operating budget of approximately $5 million. Reporting to the board of directors, the executive director’s role is to provide leadership to the organization and manage its day-to-day affairs. An important aspect of the role is to work closely with the community, cultivating financial and other support, while overseeing all programs as well as all paid and volunteer staff.

Care Coordinators / Case Management

Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) is hiring Care Coordinators / Case Management. Based in our service area of Washington, Orange and Lamoille Counties, Case Managers will work with older adults to remain in their homes through creative connections with state and community resources.

Staff in this role have the capacity to really make a difference in the lives of older adults in our communities.

Senior Accountant

The Town of Stowe is looking for a dynamic, detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. If you’re passionate about public service, love turning spreadsheets into stories, and want to make a real impact — we want to hear from you!

As Senior Accountant, you won’t just be reconciling numbers — you’ll be supporting transparency, accountability, and sound financial practices. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Processing payroll and accounts payable

  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes

  • Collaborating on annual budget development and monitoring

  • Participating in audit activities and preparing audit schedules

  • Ensuring compliance with GASB, GAAP, and Town of Stowe financial policies

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, public sector environment and brings strong accounting expertise. The ideal candidate will have (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA a plus!)

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience (governmental accounting preferred)

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency at Excel is a must. Knowledge of NEMRC

  • municipal software is a plus.

  • Analytical mindset with sharp attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

This is an in-person position. Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications.
