Obituary: Edward Albert Forkey III

September 5, 1964 – May 13, 2024

May 22, 2024

Edward “Eddie” Albert Forkey III passed away after an unexpected medical incident on May 13, 2024. He was born on September 5, 1964, at Heaton House in Montpelier, Vermont, to Mary and Edward Forkey Jr., proud to carry the family name and the eldest of four brothers, spending many years becoming a staple in the community.

He remained in the Waterbury community, graduating from Harwood Union High School in 1982. He later met his wife Pamala Wittick and they started their family. After having their first child in Florida, they moved back to Vermont to raise their children back in Waterbury. During that time, he worked at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. They moved to a few homes over the years, including Groton and Randolph, Vermont, where Eddie left his mark on the hearts of those around him.

His heart forever remains in New England, as a die-hard fan of all things and sports of New England: New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. He was also a proud fan of #3 Dale Earnhardt.

Eddie was loved by family and friends who became an extension of his family. He lived his life as an inspiration to others. He was often known to be there for anybody and offer a helping hand however he could, whether it be a joke to make you laugh or to help by changing a tire. He spent his last days as he would have wanted: visiting, playing with and hugging his five grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Pamela Forkey, his children, step-children, and adopted child Edward Albert LeRiche-Forkey and spouse Danielle LeRiche-Forkey, Scott Forkey and spouse Krystina Forkey, Kateland Forkey and spouse Jacob Hatch, Alex Wittick and Alyssa Wittick, Jessie Waters; grandchildren Lina and LJ LeRiche-Forkey, Scott Forkey Jr., and Avah and Avery Hatch; his brothers James Forkey, Mark Forkey and spouse Erinn Forkey, Chris Forkey and spouse Meagen Devou, and countless extended family and friends.

A private viewing will be held for immediate family only, followed by a graveside service at Hope Cemetery in Waterbury, Vermont, on June 7 at 11 a.m.  A celebration of Eddie’s life will occur shortly after graveside services at the American Legion (potluck) in Waterbury. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been arranged to support the family during this time.
