The Valley Players present the 4th Annual Mad River Story Slam at the Valley Players Theater this Saturday, April 13, in Waitsfield.

The theme for this year’s stories is “Misadventures” as storytellers share true tales in which things didn’t go exactly as planned – or perhaps the plan was flawed all along but went ahead anyway!

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Valley Players board members Doug Bergstein and Susan Loynd.

Storytellers on the program are Charlotte Robinson of Warren, Lorretta Pontillo of Milton, Shevonne Travers of Waitsfield, Loynd of Fayston, Bridget Edwards of Winooski, Dennis McSorely of Burlington, Bobbi Rood of Warren, Marci Robinson of Warren, Tobin Mollet of Milton, and Sue Richardson of Beverly, Massachusetts.

In preparation for the show, participants took part in two workshops with Bergstein and Loynd to learn tips on the storytelling process and receive feedback to refine their stories for the slam.

“The Valley Players are thrilled to continue this new tradition,” Bergstein said. “There is no better way to understand someone than to hear one of their stories.”

Tickets: $10, available online at valleyplayers.com or call 802-583-1674.
