Local residents among 144 appointments to state boards, commissions

Gov. Phil Scott recently appointed 144 Vermonters to various state boards and commissions, his office announced this week.

Among the appointees are several local residents: 

• Marie Milord-Ajanma, of Waterbury, was appointed to the Vermont Housing Finance Agency board.

• Lynne Cardozo, of Duxbury, was appointed to the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living Advisory Board.

• Shalini Suryanarayana, of Middlesex, was added to the Governor's Workforce Equity and Diversity Council.

• David Butsch, of Moretown, was appointed to the Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

A multitude of boards and commissions are part of state government and give Vermonters opportunities to serve their state and communities. The governor makes appointments quarterly to fill various openings.

The governor’s office is currently seeking applications to fill vacancies and upcoming term expirations for the next round of appointments.
