The Steele Community Room is a high-traffic spot at Waterbury’s Municipal Complex that features rotating art exhibits year-round.

Volunteers and staff who manage the displays are looking for new candidates to share their work in 2026. Artists, historians, and anyone with a visual story to tell are invited to submit an application to get on the exhibit schedule for next year.

Pieces to be on view must be wired and ready for hanging. The available space encompasses the four walls inside the building’s main public meeting space.

Guidelines, along with the application form and an exhibit map, are posted online

The current exhibit on view until May is a collection of abstract paintings by Colchester artist Robert Larkin.
