Barbara Ann Brackett, 1933-2026
Barbara Ann Gibbs Brackett, a longtime resident of Waterbury Center, Vermont, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Berlin Health & Rehab Center. She was predeceased by her son Randy S. Guptil, her parents Mark and Anne (Kenney) Gibbs, her brother and sisters Lloyd Gibbs, Marion Bidwell, Beulah Gibbs and Rachel Wentworth, as well as both her first husband Kenneth W. Guptil and second husband Morten Brackett.
She leaves behind two sons: Steven and his wife Pam Guptil, of Waterbury Center, and Mark Guptil of Montpelier, Vermont; nephew Kyle and Dorie of Essex Junction, Vermont, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family
The portion of her life besides being a loving mother was housekeeping at hotels in Stowe and Waterbury. Her pastimes were horse and dog shows, where she won many blue ribbons, and she enjoyed making lamps with coastal Maine scenes.
She requested not to have a funeral service and only wanted a graveside service for family and friends. This will take place on May 9, at 1 p.m., at the Maple Street Cemetery in Waterbury Center.
