Glenn Robert Jones, 1955-2026
Glenn was born on June 25, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Betty Jones. His family later relocated to Waterbury Center, Vermont, where he grew up and graduated from Harwood Union High School in 1973. Shortly after graduation, Glenn joined the United States Army, a chapter of his life that was incredibly important to him and one of which he was deeply proud.
Following his military service, Glenn worked for a few years as a security guard. His career eventually brought him to Stowe, Vermont, where some of his happiest years were spent. Over the years, Glenn became a familiar and friendly face throughout the town, working at various local establishments, including The Pub, Mt. Mansfield Company, the Rusty Nail, the local movie theater, and the Stoweflake Resort. It was while working at The Pub in Stowe, however, that Glenn truly found his people. Stowe brought him a vibrant community of lifelong friends and, most importantly, introduced him to his wife, Linda Sue, who was truly his soulmate.
Beyond his work, Glenn was a man of diverse passions and vast knowledge. He was an avid fan of Star Trek, science fiction, and Disney, holding a special fondness in recent years for the character Stitch. He was also an enthusiastic collector of comic books, hats, and other memorabilia related to his many interests. Each collection reflected his unique personality, curiosity, and love for the things that brought him joy. Above all, Glenn was known for his incredible mastery of trivia. Anyone who sat down to talk with Glenn knew they were in for an engaging, enlightening, and deeply interesting conversation.
Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Sue; his father, Robert Jones; and his brother, Dale Jones. He is survived by his mother, Betty Jones; his brother, Allen Jones, and his wife, Sharon; his sister, Doreen Cleary, and her husband, Robert; and his brother, Darrin Jones. He also leaves behind his nieces, Allison Jones, Paige Cleary, and Haley Cleary; his nephews, Ethan Jones and Taylor Jones; five great-nieces; and a community of friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Springfield Nursing Home for the care and kindness they showed to Glenn.
