Linda Carol Piering Devlin, 89, of Waterbury, Vermont, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Born on January 30, 1936, in New York City to the late Henry and Helene Piering, Linda grew up in Darien, Connecticut, and then moved to Vermont, a place she lived and loved for the remainder of her life.
Linda was a graduate of Pine Manor Junior College and Syracuse University, and she taught home economics at Harwood Union School in Duxbury, Vermont, for many years.
She was an avid world traveler, visiting the most incredible parts of the world, with a particular affinity for Bhutan, Africa, and many remote Pacific islands. She enjoyed skiing, figure skating, birding, cooking, gardening, quilting, and photography.
Linda was interred alongside her loving husband, John “Jack” Devlin, in Phillips Cemetery in Duxbury.
She is survived by her cousins, Stephen Lenz and his wife Linda, and Heather Adams and her husband Gregory and their daughter Bianca, of Macungie, Pennsylvania.
Donations can be made in Linda’s memory to the World Wildlife Fund or The Nature Conservancy, both causes close to Linda's heart.
