Ronald Wayne Cantwell. 1969-2026

Ronald Wayne Cantwell, 56, of The Villages, Florida, and a former longtime resident of Waterbury, Vermont, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026. Ron was born at the Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, on April 15, 1969, the son of Ronald Thomas Cantwell and Penny-Sabin Cantwell.

Ron was a 1987 graduate of Harwood Union High School before he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years, serving in Operation Desert Storm on the USS Kalamazoo. 

He worked as a technician and in telecommunications, spending the past 12 years as a caretaker for his mother and helping neighbors with chores they were unable to do.

Ron is survived by his mother, Penny-Sabin Cantwell, his son Justin Thomas Cantwell and partner Jessica Ballard, and granddaughter Autumn Jane Cantwell, of Montpelier, Vermont; his son Jacob Paul Cantwell and partner Jessica Welch of Montpelier; his brother Kevin James Cantwell and wife Robyn Cantwell and their canine Jack, of Orlando, Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Hope Cemetery in Waterbury, Vermont, on June 27, at 11 a.m.
