Ruth C. Haskins, 1952-2026

Ruth C. Haskins, 74, of Duxbury, Vermont, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Born in Hardwick, Vermont, on March 17, 1952, Ruth was the daughter of the late George J. Aller and Barbara Brennon. She graduated from Harwood Union High School in 1970.

On June 20, 1998, she married Dana Haskins in Waterbury Center, Vermont. Together they shared a loving marriage built on family and friendship.

Ruth dedicated her life to caring for people. As a young woman, she worked at the Vermont State Hospital. She later joined the Waterbury school community, serving as a crossing guard at Waterbury Elementary School before working in food service at Waterbury Elementary School and Crossett Brook Middle School. Most recently, she was employed as a paraeducator at Harwood Union High School.

A caregiver by nature, Ruth spent more than 30 years providing day support and in-home services in the mental health field. For 22 years, she managed the Duxbury Elf Food Shelf, tirelessly assisting local families in meeting their food needs.

Above all else, Ruth loved her family. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed singing and dancing and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Dana Haskins of Duxbury; her daughter, Ashley Naglie and her husband Brian, of Hancock, New Hampshire; and her beloved grandchildren, Brooke and Tyler Naglie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

 In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Aller, and her brothers, William Aller, Leslie Aller and Howard Brennan.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be announced at a later date.

Ruth's legacy will live through the many lives she has touched with her kindness, generosity and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
