Tobias Callan. 2004-2026

Tobias Andrew Gregory Callan died on Sunday, January 4, 2026, the beloved son of John and Gena Callan of Waterbury Center, Vermont.

Tobias was born and raised in Waterbury Center, graduated 8th grade from Christ the King School in Burlington, and graduated from Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington in 2022. He was a student at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, working on his undergraduate B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering. Tobias recently completed an internship with Global Foundries, which was the highlight of his life.

Tobias was witty, curious, genuine, and quirky. He was an altar server and had been inducted into the Knights of Columbus. He liked nothing better than to spend hours making sense of a math problem, working on computer coding, or deciphering an electronic circuit malfunction.

Predeceased by his sister Gabrielle, Tobias leaves behind his parents and siblings: Brendan, Joseph, Fr. Isaiah, Grace, Amaris, Reuben, Miriam, Laural, and Gianna, as well as his grandmother, Geraldine Callan, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Stowe, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Tobias Callan ’22 to: Rice Memorial High School, c/o Advancement Office, 99 Proctor Ave., South Burlington, VT 05403, or online at rmhsvt.org/giveonline.
