Waterbury Rotary Club volunteers soon will be filling hundreds of little plastic eggs with candy treats to prepare for the annual Easter Parade and Egg Hunt on Saturday morning, April 4, the day before Easter.

Everyone who would like to march in the parade should meet at Brookside Primary School. The parade will leave from the school at 10:30 a.m. with the Easter Bunny leading the way.

The route takes Stowe Street to Main Street to Park Row and Pilgrim Park, where hundreds of candy-filled eggs will await youngsters for the Egg Hunt in the field. That part of the event will begin at approximately 11 a.m.

This is an event for children 10 and under. Kids will be sorted by age groups for the hunt and are encouraged to bring their best basket, bucket or bag to collect eggs. Rotarians say there likely will be some prizes for special eggs hidden in the field, too.

Organizers ask families to please leave pets at home. Volunteers will help direct those who plan to park at Pilgrim Park.
