Organizers in the Mad River Valley say plans are coming together for the 77th annual Warren 4th of July Parade.

The event is organized by members of the Mad River Valley Rotary Club and town volunteers.

This year’s theme is Resistance is Revolutionary: 1776-2026, to celebrate the U.S. semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Leading the parade will be staff and contributors past and present of The Valley Reporter, along with the weekly newspaper’s owners, Pat Clark and Lisa Loomis, serving as parade grand marshals.

The parade will be held rain or shine on July 4, beginning at 10 a.m. in downtown Warren. Main Street in Warren closes at 8:30 a.m.

Organizers encourage community members to enter their floats and marching groups to join the parade. They still are lining up prizes for the parade’s annual Buddy Badge fundraiser, sponsored by Radio Vermont Group WDEV. (see photo)

More information about the day’s events, from the morning parade to evening fireworks at Sugarbush Resort, is online at Warren4thofJuly.com and on the parade’s Facebook page. The celebration will include food, music, children’s activities and more. Details on parking, a free shuttle and more are on the website.
