8 of 14 Harwood School Board seats will be on March 3 ballots

January 12, 2026 | By Lisa Scagliotti

When voters in the Harwood Unified Union School District go to the polls on Town Meeting Day this March 3, eight seats on the 14-member Harwood school board will be on the ballot.

The board’s seats carry three-year terms and they have staggered ending dates. But the high number of positions up for election this year is due to the fact that several seats were filled by appointment in 2025, mainly after several positions went unfilled in last Town Meeting Day’s election.

Jan. 26 is the deadline for candidates to file forms with their town clerk’s office to have their name on the March 3 election ballot for all local offices – school board and town positions. At most, candidates need signatures from 30 registered voters in their town, or a number equivalent to 1% of the town’s checklist.

The Harwood board has two representatives each from Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield and Warren. As the largest town by population, Waterbury has four seats. Board members’ votes are also weighted based on town population.

Here’s an early look at the upcoming Harwood school board elections.

Waterbury

Pam Eaton, who was appointed in 2025 to fill a vacant seat after Town Meeting Day, says she intends to run for election. Dan Roscioli, who has served on the board since 2024, also was appointed after the March 2025 election to serve for one year. He says he will not seek election this March. The openings are a one-year position remaining on an unexpired term and a full three-year term.

Waterbury’s other two school board members, Corey Hackett and Rob Dabrowski, were both elected in 2025. Their terms expire in 2027 and 2028, respectively.

Duxbury

Emily Doloff was appointed in 2025 to fill a position open after the March election. She said she plans to run for election this March. Her seat has two years remaining. Cindy Senning, who has served as board vice chair, also told Waterbury Roundabout that she plans to run for re-election as her three-year term is ending.

Fayston

Both of Fayston’s board seats will be on the ballot. Member Langford Davidson was just appointed in November to serve until March, following the resignation of Mike Bishop in October. Davidson said he plans to run for election.

Elected in March 2025, Fayston board member Rebecca Baruzzi announced her resignation in December due to a new job that will have her moving out of Fayston. The board has advertised for applicants to be appointed this month to serve until the March 3 election, when the remaining two years on that term will be on the ballot. As of Jan. 9, there were no interested applicants yet, according to Superintendent Mike Leichliter.

Moretown and Waitsfield

Moretown board member Ben Clark and Waitsfield member J.B. Weir’s terms are ending this year as well. Weir said he will run for another term. Clark has not shared his plans regarding running for re-election yet.

Warren

Terms for board Chair Ashley Woods of Warren and fellow Warren representative Jonathan Young are not ending this year. Young’s term ends in 2027; Woods’ term ends in 2028.
