Superintendent 360: Survey seeks feedback on district’s leader

January 10, 2024

Dear students, parents and community members,

When I was hired by the school board nearly two years ago, one of my requests for accepting the job was for the school board to implement a Superintendent 360 survey process to be administered to all constituent groups, including students, parents and community members, every other year. This is a practice I have followed since I first became a superintendent in 2009 and have always found the process to be incredibly meaningful and helpful.

Superintendent Mike Leichliter

I am kindly requesting your participation in the online survey for the superintendent that the school board and I developed earlier this fall. The survey tool is easy to use and includes an open response area in order to give everyone the opportunity to communicate directly about my role and performance. Board members will review all summary ratings/comments and share responses with me so that I can assess my strengths and needs in order to improve my performance in future years.

Many times people tell me that they do not feel qualified to make a judgment on my duties or to respond to some of the questions. If that is how you feel, you may wish to view this survey as your chance to provide insight and perspective on your ideas for HUUSD, even if they do not relate directly to a category on the survey.

Please know that your responses are completely anonymous. I greatly appreciate the feedback that you provide and value the time commitment you make in completing this survey. The survey will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26.
