The countdown is on as Harwood Union High School’s class of 2026 enters the final week of its final school year.
Seniors start their week with meetings to go over important reminders ahead of graduation and a myriad of details. Final exams are on Tuesday and Wednesday, and final classes meet Thursday.
On Tuesday, the Music Department will present awards and have senior ensemble and solo musical performances. The final art show of the school year is Tuesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m.
The final senior assembly is Thursday, with the traditional ceremony to pass the torch to the junior class. Senior Awards Night is Thursday evening, with the ceremony planned for 6-7 p.m. under the graduation tent on the school’s front lawn.
On Friday, seniors will receive their caps and gowns and then will be invited to take a tour of the district’s elementary schools as buses shuttle the soon-to-be graduates back to where many began their academic careers. They will visit each elementary school for about 25 minutes before heading back to Harwood for graduation practice.
Saturday’s commencement ceremony for 109 seniors will be held at 10 a.m. under the tent.
