Highway Maintenance Worker

The Town of Stowe is seeking a motivated individual, with a safety mindset, to join its highway maintenance team. This full-time year-round opportunity currently offers a 4-day work week in the summer, generous leave time, and opportunity for overtime in winter months, weather events and emergencies.
The Highway Maintenance Worker provides routine maintenance, repair and construction of town roads, bridges, sidewalks, storm drains and facilities. Experience with highway maintenance or construction, snow removal using a wing truck, operating light equipment, buildings and ground maintenance, or driving commercial trucks preferred, but will train the right person. A valid driver’s license is required and CDL Class A or B.

Pay range is $18.00 to $21.35, dependent upon on experience, and may be $20.32 to $23.54 in just six months.

Animal Control Officer
Town of Waterbury
The Town of Waterbury is seeking a person or persons interested in serving as Animal Control Officer (ACO). The role of the ACO is to resolve resident complaints related to dogs and their owners in a manner that is consistent with the Town’s Animal Control Ordinance.
The ACOs shall be appointed by the selectboard, but will be supervised and responsible to the Municipal Manager. In addition, the ACOs will work with the Town Clerk with regard to licensing and may work with the Town Health Officer(s) in the case of dog biting incidents.
The successful candidate will have an appreciation and respect for animals and their owners, but will understand their role in keeping people and animals safe through the enforcement of the ordinance. The primary role of the ACO is to mediate and resolve conflicts that sometimes arise between the general public and dog owners; a secondary role is to investigate instances of dog bites or animal cruelty.
Compensation is negotiable, but will include a minimum amount per response.

2023 Summer Camp Job Openings
Stowe Parks & Recreation
These positions are an amazing opportunity for high school and college students, aspiring or current teachers, or anyone who loves working with kids! Located in the beautiful village of Stowe, Vermont, Stowe Rec Summer Camp offers children the quintessential day camp experience. Our summer camp serves kids in K-9th grade. Each group of campers is led by 2-3 counselors. Stowe Parks & Recreation is currently seeking energetic, team oriented, and motivated individuals who have experience working with children or in a recreational field.
Camp Director - $21 per hour
As a Camp Director, you will work closely with the Program Director, Group Coordinators, and Camp Counselors to ensure a safe and respectful quality program. The Camp Director’s duties include planning camp activities, conducting training sessions, managing daily camp operations, supervising staff along with coaching and supporting youth.
Group Coordinators - $19 per hour
The Group Coordinators will work in a specific age group with our counselors and duties include planning and conducting program activities as well as overseeing the emotional wellbeing of camp participants. The right candidate will work to ensure all campers have the opportunity to participant inclusively in our program.
Camp Counselors - $16 per hour, $18 per hour if Lifeguard certified
As a camp counselor you will have the opportunity to foster children’s learning and growth while providing quality, fun-filled programming. Counselors are responsible for the overall safety, support, program implementation, and logistics for a group of campers throughout the summer camp season. Individuals hired will be a positive role model, have a willingness to take initiative, and possess an encouraging attitude.
Shifts are Monday-Friday and generally from 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm, approximately 8 hours per day. First Aid/CPR/AED and Lifeguard certifications are preferred, though training may be provided. Season is from June 2023- August 2023. Join us for a delightful and fulfilling summer season!
