Weekly Road Work reports are assembled with information from the Vermont Agency of Transportation on projects in the region, the Waterbury Public Works Department, and other local highway departments for projects in Waterbury and neighboring communities as necessary.
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution through work zones and to follow posted speed limits. Speeding fines are doubled in work areas.
Interstate 89 Southbound | Waterbury-Montpelier
The Vermont Agency of Transportation this week will be working Tuesday through Friday on the Interstate 89 southbound resurfacing project between Waterbury and Montpelier.
Work will be done during the daytime this week between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Expect minimal delays due to southbound lane closures between Exit 10 (Waterbury/Stowe) and Exit 8 (Montpelier).
Crews have installed the leveling course of pavement on the Exit 8 and Exit 9 ramps in Montpelier and Middlesex.
Work is now underway to rehabilitate drainage structures. Installation will also begin on new guardrails on the Exit 9 on ramp and Exit 8 off ramp.
