The Vermont State Police this afternoon sent out a short news release seeking information about an unspecified “suspicious incident” that took place Wednesday night in Waterbury Center.

The bulletin said that the Vermont State Police is investigating a suspicious incident that occurred between 10 and 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, “in the area of Maple Street in Waterbury.”

Anyone with information or video footage from this time period can call the state police barracks in Berlin 802-229-9191. Tips also may be submitted online at vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit, the news release noted.

Asked if investigators could provide further details about the location or individuals this might involve, state police spokesman Adam Silverman confirmed that no further information is available for release at this time. State police will share updates as the investigation proceeds, he said.

Earlier Wednesday afternoon, Waterbury Roundabout received reports from readers of increased police presence in the Kneeland Flats Road section of Waterbury Center.
