Vermont State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a recent retail theft in Waterbury.

Trooper Mae Murdock shared information and photos in a news release regarding a theft on April 12 at approximately 5 p.m. It took place at Yao’s Deli at 150 South Main Street, the convenience store with the Sunoco station in downtown Waterbury.

The investigation found that two individuals were involved and made off with e-cigarettes and a display case valued in excess of $2,000, according to the report.

Troopers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the individual in the photos from store security cameras.

Of note is the suspect’s white hooded sweatshirt with rips in the elbows and a distinctive front design. The individual has their face covered with a mask and their sweatshirt hood is up. They’re also wearing jeans and Nike sneakers.

Anyone with information that might assist investigators is encouraged to contact Trooper Murdock at the Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191. Anonymous tips can also be submitted at vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit
