Vermont State Police say vandals took a blunt object to “at least 46” mailboxes across the Mad River Valley in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

An initial report came in to police early today saying that multiple mailboxes had been vandalized around 1 a.m. on Pine Tree Lane in Fayston.

Troopers responded and subsequently found that a total of at least 46 mailboxes had been damaged on several roads including along German Flats Road in Fayston and Warren, and North Road in Waitsfield.

“It appeared the perpetrator hit the mailboxes with a blunt object,” Trooper David Lambert said in a news release.

Police obtained a video of the suspect’s vehicle which they released to the public. (below) Anyone with information including additional video or photo footage from their home or business security systems is asked to contact the state police Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191.

State police shared this video with their news release.
