Waterbury office staff to resume five-day public hours
July 11, 2026 | By Lisa ScagliottiWaterbury’s municipal offices will resume being open to the public five days a week starting on Monday, July 13.
The move follows the hiring of a new assistant town clerk, Myria McNally, who joined the town staff last week. McNally, a Stowe resident, will succeed Assistant Town Clerk Beth Jones, who this year postponed her retirement to serve as Interim Town Clerk following the resignation of former Town Clerk Karen Petrovic at the end of December.
In mid-March, the town office shifted to being closed to the public on Thursdays, allowing staff time to focus on administrative work.
In early June, the Waterbury Select Board appointed Wesley Pollock as town clerk to serve until Town Meeting Day in March 2027. Jones shifted back to assistant clerk duties, and Pollock just recently hired McNally.
Jones and McNally are now working on the transition that will allow for Jones, who has been in her position for 15 years, to retire in several weeks and for McNally to fully step into the assistant clerk role. Town leaders also have expanded the position to be full-time, including other administrative duties in addition to assistant town clerk responsibilities.
Jones said she’s pleased to have the new town clerk staff on board. “We’re delighted that we’re fully staffed and have two capable and dedicated additions to the Town Clerk’s office to allow us to return to offering full public service five days a week,” she said.
Starting Monday, regular municipal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
