LETTER: Host families needed for Rotary Youth Exchange Student from France

June 24, 2026

To the Community:

Our local Rotary Youth Exchange program is seeking two host families for a wonderful high school exchange student from France who will be arriving this August.

Host family openings are by semester, from August until January, and then from January to June.

Hosting an exchange student is a unique opportunity to bring another culture into your home, build lifelong international friendships, and make a lasting impact on a young person’s life. Host families come in all shapes and sizes—families with children, empty nesters, single adults, and retirees can all be great hosts.

The student will attend Harwood Union High School, participate in family and community life, and be supported by Rotary throughout the exchange year. Host families provide a welcoming home environment, meals, and inclusion in day-to-day family activities.

If you’ve ever been curious about international exchange, this is a wonderful way to share Vermont with a student eager to experience American life while learning about French culture in return.

If you would like more information or are interested in hosting for either semester, please contact Rotary Youth Exchange Chair Susan Cherry by email to susan.cherry1@gmail.com. And, please share this post with anyone who might be interested.

Thank you,

Alex Bourbonnais
