Reilly, Jana, Jack, and our whole family want to thank all the people and businesses in our community who contributed prizes, money, talent, and time to the various fundraising efforts that have been held on our behalf in recent months, helping us through Paul’s heart transplant.
These efforts have included GoFundMe, HeartBrothers Foundation grants, Stowe Community Fund, February Stowe Weekend Sales-Share (Pinnacle Ski & Sports, Front Four Gallery, The Body Lounge, Inner Bootworks, Archery Close, and Stowe Living), March Raffle, Benefit Jazz Concert at The Phoenix, and Harwood Union’s Valentine’s Day Rose Sale and Sunshine Fund Raffle.
We also want to thank everyone for sending us their positive energy and for the thousands of kindnesses that have been directed our way, both large and small:
Willie Noyes rummaging around in our shed to find Etienne’s tires so he could swap out her snows before we came back; Marjorie Churchill offering a Saturday appointment at Stowe Dental Associates; Scott and Kelly Crawford giving Etienne a place to stay in Cambridge for a month and delivering our mail from home; Brendar and Richard Mahoney for chicken salad sandwiches, homemade cookies, and serving as our “local” address for cards and deliveries; Jeff Brynn for property care; Katrine Wolfgang for managing our spring projects; Tim Ziegler for regularly checking in with us and sharing his heartfelt support, and the list goes on and on.
We’re moving back to Stowe on May 4 – 139 days since we left for Boston and 101 days since Paul’s heart transplant. Our journey isn’t over, and we still have challenges to face, but the future looks bright!
