One late-March storm deserves another. The first week of April was a wild ride with sun, wind, another foot of snow, widespread power outages and closed schools. We’ve added one more gallery from the April 4-5 storm here.

We know better than to think winter’s run its course while the calendar still says “March” and the first day of spring has sprung.

To keep things interesting, a hefty blast of winter blew in for the weekend on Saturday, March 23, dumping one of the season’s biggest snowstorms with many spots around Waterbury and Duxbury getting in excess of a foot. Spoiler: Blinding sunshine immediately followed, making the snow disappear in record time.

Birds weathering the storm and then soaking in the sun caught photographer Gordon Miller’s eye.
