Harwood Calcutta fundraiser rescheduled to May 3

April 17, 2026 | By Waterbury Roundabout

The Harwood Athletics annual Calcutta fundraiser scheduled for early May has had a slight date change, and some tickets are also still available, according to organizers.

Originally planned for May 2, the event has been moved to Sunday, May 3, at the American Legion on Stowe Street in Waterbury. Start time is 4 p.m. for a social hour with dinner at 5 p.m. Prize drawings will begin around 5:30 p.m.

Harwood golf coach Brian McCarthy is a lead organizer for the annual event. He said the date switch was due to circumstances beyond the control of the group. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding,” he said in messages shared with the community this week.

McCarthy said he would give a refund to anyone who is unable to attend on the new May 3 date. Anyone in that situation should contact McCarthy.

Additionally, there still are a few tickets remaining for the event. Anyone interested in purchasing a ticket ($100 for dinner and entry for the prize drawings) should also contact McCarthy.

Reach him by email at coachbcmc@comcast.net or text/call 802-272-8811.
