High school spring sports are winding down with Harwood teams making multiple state championship appearances.

Still in the running are both girls and boys lacrosse teams.

No. 1-seeded Harwood Boys Lacrosse and No. 4 Brattleboro battled rain showers and delays for thunder on Wednesday, with the Highlanders dominating for a 14-2 semifinal win at home. They head to UVM on Sunday to play for the state title against No. 2 Hartford.

Fourth-ranked Harwood Girls Lacrosse traveled to Woodstock to play the top-ranked Wasps, but the weather derailed the game plan on Wednesday. The semifinal has been rescheduled for Thursday. The winner will play No. 2 U-32 at UVM on Sunday.

Harwood’s No. 1 Girls Tennis finished a stellar season this week in what the Times Argus called a marathon championship match against No. 3 Rice Memorial on Tuesday.

At last week’s D-II state championship last Friday, Harwood Girls Track & Field team tied Rice Memorial for second place overall; Harwood Boys Track & Field finished in 11th place overall. Harwood’s Isabella Pockoski took home the D-II state title in shot put for a record-breaking throw in addition to her win in discus.

Harwood Baseball ended their season in the D-II quarterfinals. The post-season playdown round was the final game for Harwood Softball.
