March 31: Vermont Civil Air Patrol hosts open house for youth and their families

March 30, 2026 | By Waterbury Roundabout

The Vermont Civil Air Patrol Squadron hosts an open house this Tuesday, March 31, at the meeting at Edward Knapp Airport in Berlin.

The event, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., is an opportunity for Vermont teens and their families to learn about the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, which gives young people ages 12 to 21 a chance to explore training in aerospace, emergency services and leadership while fostering a wide network of friendships and building self-confidence.

Adults also can take advantage of free professional development in various fields, including emergency services, aerospace science, marketing and communications. Adult volunteers are also welcome to assist with cadet programs.

Teachers are welcome to join and to gain access to complimentary classroom materials and STEM kits provided by the U.S. Air Force.

Learn more at this week’s open house.
