Born on March 30, 1957, he was the beloved son of Teresa and Michael Fay.

Gerald Maurice Fay, 1957-2026

Gerald was a devoted husband to his wife, Kelly Fay. He was a proud and loving father to Chad Fay, Nicole Walker and her husband Garth Walker, and Daniel Fay and his wife Ashley Fay, from a previous marriage to Deborah Derosia; and Ashley Fay from his latest marriage. He was a cherished grandfather to Alivia, Keira, Rylee, Haven, and Abrie, who brought immense joy to his life.

Gerald is also survived by his siblings, Laurie Fay Abare, Michael Fay, and Richard Fay, with whom he shared many lifelong memories.

Gerald built a strong and respected career as a general manager, working for several companies throughout his life, including many years with General Electric. He was known for his dedication, leadership and steady presence.

Outside of work, Gerald lived a full and vibrant life. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found hunting with his boys, fishing, or relaxing by the river. He enjoyed baseball and basketball, had a passion for music, and was a talented trumpet player. He loved to travel, especially to Bar Harbor, Maine, and treasured time spent by the ocean.

Gerald had a playful and imaginative spirit. He admired Superman and was known for creating wild, imaginative stories that delighted his children and friends. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures – spending time with his beloved cats, going on “pretty rides” with his family, and sharing laughter with those he loved most.

Gerald will be remembered for his warmth, humor, creativity, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Waterbury-Stowe Fish and Game Club. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages honoring Gerald’s memory by spending time with loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, and taking a “pretty ride” in his spirit.
