Trade food donations for pumpkins, Halloween treats, ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s

Staff members at Ben & Jerry’s Waterbury ice cream factory will host their annual Pumpkin Giveaway and Food Drive next Sunday morning, Oct. 19, at the factory. 

Community members are asked to bring nonperishable food items or a cash/check monetary donation to support the Waterbury Common Market, the local food shelf. 

In return, factory staff will hand out pumpkins, Halloween goodie bags, and pints of ice cream. 

The morning drive begins at 8 a.m. and will end when supplies run out. The popular event historically completes the food collection and pumpkin/ice cream distribution in an hour or two.
