Glenn David Spence, 1957-2025

Glenn Spence, 67, of Stowe and Waterbury, Vermont, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 19, 2025.  Born in Burlington, Vermont, on October 10, 1957, he attended Burlington public schools and SUNY Morrisville, New York.  He was predeceased by his beloved parents David and Lorraine Spence.

Glenn was committed to his communities and participated in Waterbury Rotary, Waterbury Youth Soccer, Waterbury Little League, and Waterbury Youth Basketball both as a coach and on various boards. He built strong friendships through his work for Ben & Jerry’s and a career in the restaurant industry. Glenn enjoyed sharing his love of classic cars and live music.

Glenn is survived by his sons, Dustin and Owen Spence. They gave him much pride and joy and he will be greatly missed by them. Dustin's family includes his wife Jessica Sperling, stepdaughter Loralie Greiner, stepson Alex Greiner and daughter Lucy who was Glenn’s biggest fan.

He leaves behind his sister Linda Randall and her husband Mason “Randy” of Connecticut, their children Jessica and Jacob and their spouses and children; his sister Jeanne Spence Cotter and her children Kelsey and Kevin, and his family. His family includes his best friend of 47 years Patti Spence Martin, her siblings and their families.

You couldn't help loving Glenn's tie-dye presence around his communities where he was supportive of many events and organizations. If you ever met him, you immediately liked him. He was the friendliest, kindest, and most accepting person in every room. He never, ever said goodbye. Not on the phone, not in person. It was always "peace.”

An outdoor, tie-dye celebration of his life will be held at noon on Oct. 13 at Camp Meade in Middlesex, Vermont, with a party to follow. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Waterbury Good Neighbor Fund.

Online condolences may be made on the Perkins Parker Funeral Home website.
