Judith Ann Burkhart, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Olalla, Washington, on October 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Donald Burkhart. 

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Leslie Roedder and Andrea Burkhart; her grandchildren, Corrie and Bryan Roedder; and her great-grandchildren, Theo and Hudson Cyr. Judy grew up in Waterbury, Vermont, and graduated from Waterbury High School.

Judy was a woman of warmth and generosity who embraced life with kindness and an open heart. She found joy in the simple pleasures -- sewing with care, dancing with spirit, tending to her garden, and exploring the outdoors through camping, fishing, hiking, and skiing. Her love for nature and creativity reflected the vibrant energy she brought to every aspect of her life.

A faithful member of Chapel Hill Church in Gig Harbor, Judy’s life was grounded in community and compassion. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength to those around her.  

Judy is predeceased by her parents, Bunny and Louis Sweet, and brothers Bernard L. Sweet and James L. Sweet, all of Waterbury.  

A memorial service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in Waterbury on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.

Judy’s legacy lives on through the love she shared with family and friends. May her memory bring peace to all who knew her.
