Mud Season bus routes begin Friday, March 6

Given quickly warming temperatures and softening gravel roads, local road crews have alerted First Student and the Harwood Unified Union School District to road closures to buses. 

The school district on Thursday afternoon announced that adjustments to bus stops for pick-ups and drop-offs will go into effect starting Friday, March 6. 

“First Student recommends arriving approximately five minutes before the anticipated pick-up and drop-off times listed. We anticipate more changes to come and will send updates as soon as possible,” the district’s announcement notes. 

Here are the changes by route: 

Bus H1
Brookside routes will run 10 minutes later in the morning and 10 minutes earlier on the afternoon route.

• Crossett Hill Road: Families should plan on meeting at the Crossett Hill Road and Morse Road intersection at 7:09 a.m. and 2:41 p.m.

Harwood / Crossett Brook route will run 5 minutes later in the morning and 5 minutes earlier on the afternoon route. 

• Crossett Hill Road: Families should plan on meeting at Crossett Hill Road and Morse Road intersection at 8 a.m. and 3:54 p.m.

Bus H2
Brookside route will run on time.

• Gregg Hill Road: Families should plan on meeting at the intersection of Gregg Hill and Route 100 at the turnaround side at 7 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. at Gregg Hill and Route 100 (Stowe end), and 7:10 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. (Waterbury end).

• Spruce Haven: Families should plan on meeting at the intersection of Route 100 and Spruce Haven Road at 6:52 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Harwood / Crossett Brook 

• Gregg Hill Roa: Families should plan on meeting at the intersection of Gregg Hill and Route 100 at the turnaround side at 7:50 a.m. and 4 p.m., at Gregg Hill and Route 100 (Stowe end) at 7:55 a.m. and 4:05 p.m. (Waterbury end)

• Spruce Haven: Families should plan on meeting at the intersection of Route 100 and Spruce Haven Rd. at 7:45 a.m. and 4:05 p.m.

Bus H4
Brookside: River Road and Camels Hump Road - Families should plan on meeting at the parking lot at the east end of Winooski Street Bridge at 7 a.m. and 2:50 p.m.

Harwood / Crossett Brook: River Road and Camels Hump Road - Families should plan on meeting at the parking lot at the east end of Winooski Street Bridge at 8 a.m. and 3:48 p.m.
