Road Work | Week of July 13-17

July 10, 2026 | By Waterbury Roundabout

Weekly Road Work reports are assembled with information from the Vermont Agency of Transportation on projects in the region, the Waterbury Public Works Department, and other local highway departments for projects in Waterbury and neighboring communities as necessary.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution through work zones and to follow posted speed limits. Speeding fines are doubled in work areas along the interstate.

Waterbury

ROAD CLOSURE: On Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, Railroad Street downtown will be partially closed for Waterbury Arts Fest. The road will be blocked between the train station/Park Row and the High Street intersection until late Saturday afternoon.

Storm cleanup: Heavy rains on Thursday night caused some erosion on gravel roads around town. In some areas, gravel from driveways has washed onto paved roads.

On Barnes Hill, a washout across from the address 371 will need attention as it’s approaching the road shoulder.

Town crews will be out to do repairs and cleanup.

Mowing: Motorists also should be on the lookout for crews doing roadside mowing and use caution where work is taking place.
