Waterbury’s Winter Parking Ban takes effect this Saturday, Nov. 15, and runs through April 15.

During this time, parking is not allowed on town streets or roads between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. The ban is in place and enforced regardless of the weather, according to town officials.

Vehicles parked in violation of the ban will be towed, and vehicle owners will be responsible for the fee to retrieve their vehicle.

This measure ensures that town road crews can clear roads of ice and snow in a timely manner and that personal vehicles are not plowed in during a storm.

Town officials note that they do not wish to see anyone towed. They ask that town residents and visitors comply with the ban and spread the word to others.

Should vehicle owners need off-street overnight parking, Town Manager Tom Leitz noted that the lot on Foundry Street adjacent to the Wesley Methodist Church is available. Vehicles parked there overnight will not be towed.

Town officials have not yet shared details regarding where vehicle owners should call if their vehicle is towed or how much the fee will be to get a vehicle back.

The town announcement regarding the parking ban asks that any questions regarding winter parking be directed to the town manager at 802-244-4300 during regular business hours or email at tleitz@waterburyvt.com.
