Harwood’s $45.4 million budget passed muster with school district voters, winning approval on Town Meeting Day by a two-to-one margin.  Voter participation in the school budget vote was 15.7%.

With a second drive-up voting booth set up outside the town garage and town office, Duxbury voters cast their ballots from their vehicles on Town Meeting Day with all items passing handily. 

By a 17-vote margin, newcomer select board candidate Kane Sweeney unseated veteran select board member Chris Viens in a three-way race for two seats in Tuesday’s Town Meeting Day election. 

As towns across Vermont ease back into their pre-pandemic Town Meeting Day routines, Duxbury is moving on by embracing the paper ballot format it used for the past two years that resulted in higher voter turnout than before. Voting will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the town offices and garage on Tuesday. There is no in-person town meeting.

Tonight at 6 p.m., the Harwood Unified Union School District holds its in-person annual meeting to cover housekeeping items ahead of the district-wide vote by ballot on school budget questions the following day. It will include a budget presentation with a chance to ask questions.
