LETTER: Molly Gray has a commitment to human and civil rights

October 16, 2026

To the Community:

Like many Vermonters, I’ve watched with growing alarm as our president engages in unprecedented executive overreach.

Prices are sky-high due to illegal tariffs; our economy is damaged by attacks on immigrants; our privacy is being violated by Big Tech surveillance. This has made me realize how important it is for Vermont’s state government to protect us from current federal actions.

I’m confident that Molly Gray is the best candidate in this year’s lieutenant governor race.

Molly’s commitment to human and civil rights isn’t simply a talking point – it’s backed by her career as a lawyer, advocate, and former lieutenant governor. She began her legal career with the International Committee of the Red Cross, and defended Vermonters’ rights as an assistant attorney general. Most recently, she led the Vermont Afghan Alliance, helping Afghan allies who risked their lives for U.S. military missions resettle in Vermont. When some were unlawfully detained by ICE, she defended them.

As lieutenant governor, Molly would work tirelessly to fight the Trump administration. She is committed to ensuring due process and humane treatment for ICE detainees, prohibiting immigration enforcement in public places, and protecting and expanding voting rights through the implementation of a Vermont Voting Rights Act and a paid Election Day holiday.

State leaders must ensure every Vermonter feels safe and knows their rights are protected. As Trump’s extreme policies threaten our rights and freedoms, Molly will never back down. I urge you to join me in electing her as Vermont’s next lieutenant governor.
