LETTER: Elect moderates, not socialists
As a retired small business owner, high-level employee of several small businesses, and as a former state representative, I have a unique perspective on the impact socialism is having in this year’s election.
LETTER: Molly Gray has a commitment to human and civil rights
State leaders must ensure every Vermonter feels safe and knows their rights are protected. As Trump’s extreme policies threaten our rights and freedoms, Molly Gray will never back down. I urge you to join me in electing her as Vermont’s next lieutenant governor.
LETTER: Molly Gray is the best choice for lieutenant governor
Molly Gray is by far our best candidate for lieutenant governor. She has experience in the position, having previously served alongside Gov. Phil Scott, and was by all accounts highly effective in the role.
COMMENTARY: Voting… a right, an obligation, or a legal requirement?
I believe mandatory voting is a good idea. It’s been shown to make electoral results more broadly representative and also to inhibit voter suppression. This strengthens democracy, especially in these times when national voter-suppression attempts are a manifest threat.
LETTER: Waterbury Vote Early event on Oct. 17
Because your voice matters, we will be hosting a Vote Early rally in front of the Waterbury Town Offices on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Op-Ed: Vermont's roads and bridges can't be a bargaining chip with the federal government
In a Vermont Public debate this summer, Amanda Janoo, now the Democratic nominee for governor, said she would support Vermont withholding federal taxes as “a bargaining chip” against Washington. When the moderator asked her to clarify, she confirmed it.
Op-Ed: Will Democrats help elect Gov. Scott again?
It’s been no secret that Gov. Phil Scott has benefited greatly during his time as our governor from the support he has received from mainstream, moderate Democrats. The mass exodus of Democratic Party loyalists has been key to his overwhelming victories.
LETTER: Character is on the ballot
Throughout this debate and her entire campaign, Molly Gray has shown me that she is the kind of person who will lead respectfully, intelligently, and humbly. With so many unknowns and complexities in the political battles ahead, she possesses the qualities we need in a leader right now, regardless of party affiliation.
LETTER: Vote ‘yes’ on Prop 4 constitutional amendment
On Nov. 3, vote “yes” to amend the Vermont Constitution by adding Proposal 4, Equality of Rights.
LETTER: Prop 3 is intended to prevent undermining unions
Elizabeth Brown’s commentary “Can Vermont afford to pass Proposal 3?” spends much of its space touting the supposed benefits of right-to-work laws, mostly without citing where she gets the statistics on which she relies.
LETTER: ‘These are not national Republicans’
I believe we all want the same things for Vermont. We want to make the cost of living more affordable, including the cost of healthcare, housing, and education, and we want a safe, clean environment. But we have different ideas about how to achieve those goals.
LETTER: Indivisible Mad River Valley encourages early voting
No Kings: Vote Early focuses on nonpartisan electoral action, voter registration, early voting turnout, and election protection ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections.
Op-Ed: Ballots are here. Do you understand Prop 3?
Understanding Prop 3 is essential for every Vermont voter as we cast our ballots and consider amending our constitution.
LETTER: Right for Vermont Foundation holds sessions on Prop 3
The Right for Vermont Foundation will hold a series of free public information sessions across the state this month to help Vermonters understand Proposal 3, the constitutional amendment on the Nov. 3 ballot.
COMMENTARY: Can Vermont afford Proposal 3?
Last year, Vermont's population fell by a larger share than any other state’s. From 2015 to 2025, private-sector jobs grew 12.6% nationally. In Vermont, they fell 0.6%. Our cost of living runs 13.5% above average, and after adjusting for it, we rank 42nd in disposable income per person. What does that have to do with Proposal 3? A lot.
LETTER: Molly Gray understands ‘rural’ is an asset
Human and Constitutional rights have never been more at risk in our communities, particularly our farm communities, than they are today. For that reason, I am voting for Molly Gray for Lieutenant Governor.
LETTER: Vote Early rally planned for Oct. 17 in Waterbury
To the Community: Because your voice matters, we will be hosting a Vote Early rally in front of the Waterbury town offices on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Howard Dean: Why I'm supporting Amanda Janoo for governor
What people are asking for right now is simple, even if it's rare: leaders who are honest, who are brave, and who aren't bought and paid for by whoever writes the biggest check. That's why I'm endorsing Amanda Janoo for governor.
LETTER: Amanda Janoo’s Tunbridge World’s Fair interview deserves a listen
Please do yourself the favor of listening to this gubernatorial “debate” from the Tunbridge World's Fair. Amanda Janoo, the Democratic candidate for governor, was the only participant because Gov. Phil Scott refused the opportunity to honor the decades-old tradition of WDEV’s live debate broadcast from the fair.
LETTER: Man Without a Plan
Gov. Phil Scott’s strategy of flying below the radar so that the Trump administration doesn’t notice us is not a plan and doesn’t work. The president’s policies affect all of us whether he mentions Vermont or not.
