LETTER: Waterbury Vote Early event on Oct. 17
October 13, 2026To the Community:
Because your voice matters, we will be hosting a Vote Early rally in front of the Waterbury Town Offices on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Everyone is invited to bring their completed ballots to the rally to deposit in the ballot box outside the town offices. We are working to have live music (any musicians out there want to volunteer?), coffee, juice and refreshments as well as a donation table to collect non-perishable goods for the local food shelves.
I received my ballot in the mail this week. If you have not received yours yet, you can check your registration on the Vermont Voter Portal website or call the Waterbury Town Clerk's office at 802-244-8447.
Also, make sure to request a ballot for the Central Vermont Career Center bond vote. You can do that online as well and then be able to track your ballot on its way to you. Or you can email or call the town clerk. This additional ballot will not be automatically mailed with your regular ballot. It also is available in person at town and city clerk offices in Washington County and will be available at all polling places on Nov. 3 during regular voting.
As you prepare to vote, I would like to share a few articles and websites that I think are worth visiting:
Vermont Public Election Guide; a VTDigger article about Gov. Phil Scott’s veto of healthcare reform; a VTDigger article on Gov. Scott’s veto of data center restrictions.
Make your plan to vote by mail, by drop-off or in person on Nov. 3.
Your voice does matter. Please let me know if you need a ride on Oct. 17 or on Nov. 3.
As always, your neighbor and friend,
Carol Baitz
