LETTER: Try getting to know Amanda Janoo for governor

I don’t know a lot about Amanda Janoo, the Democratic Party’s candidate for governor.
But I do know that there’s a better future waiting for Vermont, and it is not being delivered by Phil Scott and his administration.
From what I have read and seen, Janoo is someone who recognizes the complexity and many challenges associated with trying to meet Vermonters’ basic needs, for example, promoting more affordable housing and improving healthcare delivery.
What is more telling is that, unlike Gov. Scott, Amanda is somebody who’s willing to actually voice these issues and take on these challenges.
The Scott administration and Republican legislators encourage low expectations. They make us feel naïve and foolish for expecting something better. Is that leadership?
As she has said, “I’m running for governor because Vermont deserves better than managed decline. We deserve a hopeful vision for the future and a plan to get there together.”
While I don’t know a lot about Amanda Janoo, the more I learn, the more I am convinced that voting for her is a good idea and a vote for a better future.
