Harwood XC extends summer Fun Runs

Due to popular demand, Harwood Cross Country will add one more date to its summer Fun Run schedule, with the final one set for Monday, Aug. 25.

Here are the results from the run last Monday, Aug. 11, on the shady trails at Harwood. This week’s fun run is set for Monday night, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m.

Last week, 15 runners participated in the Monday Fun Run. Jake Pitman of Duxbury finished first in the 5K with a time of 21:29, followed by Patrick Hamel of Duxbury at 21:40, Kevin McElroy of Duxbury at 23:39, Vince Wing of Waterbury Center at 24:42, Serena Wilcox of Duxbury at 25:17, Celia Wing of Waterbury Center at 26:11, Matheo Semmelroth of Duxbury at 26:11, Beckett McElroy of Duxbury at 27:57, Pippa Diller of Waterbury at 28:49, Andy Metcalf of Duxbury at 29:12, Alison Migonis of Waterbury at at 29:13, Colin Smith of Duxbury at 30:45, Tim Smith of Duxbury at 30:59, and Emilie Diller of Waterbury at 32:47. Jackson Migonis of Waterbury was the sole 3K runner.
Tonight’s registration starts at 6 p.m. The Kids Race is first at 6:15, followed by the 3K/5K.

Entry fee is $5 per runner, with no charge for kids age 6 and under. Proceeds benefit the Harwood Union High School Cross Country team’s trip to Belfast, Maine, to compete in the Maine Festival of Champions this fall.

Next week’s Fun Run at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, will be the final one for this summer.
