Scenes from Winterfest 2026
Before we turn the page into spring, here are highlights from Waterbury Winterfest. The five-day event in late January packed in plenty of outdoor and indoor winter fun for all ages from skiing and snowshoeing to ice skating, wassailing, trivia and more. Organizers are already planning for 2027. Check out galleries from Gordon Miller and Roundabout contributors.
Spring tradition: Two Easter Bunnies, 3,500 candy-filled eggs, scores of kids
Bunny ears and colorful baskets, buckets and bags were plentiful at Saturday’s Easter Parade and Egg Hunt sponsored by Waterbury Rotary.
January tradition burns bright
Conditions were pretty close to ideal on Saturday night for the annual Christmas tree bonfire and skating party at Anderson Park.

One Saturday in Waterbury: Pumpkin chuckin’, puppy cuddles and turkeys galore
One recent Saturday morning was particularly busy in Waterbury as people gathered for some semi-serious pumpkin-chuckin' competition at Dac Rowe Park, some very serious cuddles with a litter of husky sled dog puppies at the Waterbury Public Library, and a festive, bustling turkey and holiday food drive drop-off along South Main Street at the Waterbury Common Market.
